Empowering Amazonian
communities with
clean energy
THE PROBLEM
Amazonian communities that lack access to electrical power, which has triggered a delay in their development and quality of life.
Indigenous communities have historically suffered from inadequate energy interventions, leading to unsustainable projects. Many remote areas rely on fossil-fuel-based electricity grids, which become obsolete due to high costs and logistical challenges.
The project
The project provides each householder with a basic but versatile power system: one solar panel, four LED light bulbs, one battery bank which also allows to charge small electric devices.
Not invasive
Light 4 Smiles provides photovoltaic systems that respect the traditional ways of life of Native communities.
Indigenous communities in the amazon region have preserved their ways of life for thousands of years without relying on electricity. Nevertheless, this universal right lays the foundation for accessing modern education resources to nurture future generations of Amazon keepers.
